Hotel Presidente InterContinental Los Cabos
📌 1970s – Opening
The hotel opened its doors as part of the InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), becoming one of the first major resorts in San José del Cabo. Its Mexican architecture, gardens, and location overlooking the Sea of Cortez marked the beginning of a new era of tourism in the region.
📌 80s and 90s – Boom
The "President," as many called him, lived his peak. It was the setting for family vacations, beach weddings, conventions, and visits from tourists from around the world. His name became synonymous with hospitality and luxury in Los Cabos.
📌 2000s – Decline
With the accelerated growth of hotel offerings in Los Cabos and the passage of hurricanes that affected its facilities, the hotel began to lose competitiveness against new luxury resorts.
📌 Permanent closure - 2020 during COVID-19
The Presidente InterContinental Los Cabos Hotel closes its doors, leaving behind indelible memories for locals and visitors alike. Its ruins became a symbol of nostalgia for those who knew its halls and oceanfront sunsets.
📌 2025, its demolition began
